Greenhouse Gas Analyzer (CH4,CO2)-Microportable Overview

LGR’s new ground-breaking Microportable Greenhouse Gas Analyzer (µGGA) reports fugitive emissions measurements of methane and carbon dioxide simultaneously in a 6kg, handbag-size, package that is compact and crushproof. Small enough to be carried on-board aircraft (TSA approved size) and requiring less than 35 watts, the µGGA travels anywhere, initiates data collection within 20 seconds after power up, may be operated wirelessly with an iPhone or Tablet, and opens up new opportunities to measure methane and carbon dioxide everywhere. For example, this instrument allows measurements of natural gas leaks while you walk with a sensitivity that is 1000 times better than conventional methods based on flame ionization. This allows leak detection from distances far from the source and with much greater reliability.
As with all LGR instruments, the µGGA is simple to use which makes it ideal for field studies, compliance monitoring, leak detection (e.g., natural gas, coal seam gas, coal bed methane), air quality studies and soil flux studies, and wherever simultaneous measurements of methane and carbon dioxide are needed. Furthermore, the µGGA includes the “Extended Range” option which allows accurate methane measurements at levels up to 1% concentration (without dilution) without reducing precision and sensitivity at typical ambient levels - a unique capability to LGR.
